Danny Boyle’s ’28 Years Later’ Official Trailer 2 Released

The second official trailer for Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later” has been released, exciting fans of the zombie-horror franchise. This new preview takes viewers back to a dark, post-apocalyptic United Kingdom nearly thirty years after the rage virus nearly wiped out civilisation.

“28 Years Later” follows survivors living under strict quarantine. The story focuses on a brave group on a small island connected to the mainland by a strong causeway. When one member decides to venture into the dangerous mainland, he discovers chilling secrets and terrifying changes—not only among the infected but also within the survivors themselves.

The trailer features intense images: undead crowds overwhelming familiar landscapes, survivors making tough choices, and a scary warning from Ralph Fiennes’ Dr. Kelson: “Once you step onto that mainland, there are no rescues. There are many forms of death… and some are more favourable than others.” The excitement and suspense promise an action-packed ride that fans expect from this franchise.

Directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, “28 Years Later” stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes. Cillian Murphy, the star of “28 Days Later,” serves as executive producer. Boyle has hinted that fans will need to wait for Murphy’s return in future films.

“28 Years Later” begins a planned trilogy, with the next film, “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” set for release in January 2026. The movie will hit theatres on June 20, 2025, and aims to bring the chaos, horror, and thought-provoking drama that made the original films cult favourites.
