Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher signed a race helmet with the assistance of his wife, Corinna. This marks one of Schumacher’s few public acts since his life-altering skiing accident in December 2013, which left him with severe brain injuries and out of the public eye for over a decade.
The helmet, belonging to fellow F1 icon Sir Jackie Stewart, is set to be auctioned for charity to raise funds for Stewart’s “Race Against Dementia” foundation. The charity was established after Stewart’s wife, Lady Helen, was diagnosed with dementia in 2014.
Schumacher’s signature, alongside those of all 20 living F1 world champions, completes the collection on the white helmet adorned with Stewart’s signature Royal Stewart tartan design.

Schumacher’s initials “MS” were penned onto the helmet during an emotional moment, with Corinna guiding his hand. The auction proceeds will fund groundbreaking dementia research, including a promising blood test trial developed by Cambridge University that aims to detect early signs of the disease.
